2019 C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll

2018-19 (FRESHMAN): Shot in all 14 matches for air rifle while competing in smallbore 12 times ... recorded averages of 556 in smallbore and 570 in air rifle for an aggregate average of 1126 ... set career highs in smallbore (569), air rifle (581) and aggregate (1150) in the NCAA Qualifier match (2/16/19) ... fired then personal highs in aggregate (1134) and smallbore (568) against Nevada in Alaska (1/31/19) ... also recorded an aggregate of 1134 at Nevada (10/27-18/18) ... surpassed 570 in air rifle the final five matches of the fall and seven times overall on the season ... twice eclipsed 565 in smallbore.


PRIOR TO UTEP: Placed eighth nationally at the 2017 Junior Olympics in Camp Perry, Ohio … earned the 2018 Junior Distinguished Badge … snagged runner-up honors at the 2016 San Juan County Smallbore Clinic, her first smallbore competition … fired a personal-best 589 in the 3P Air Rifle to set the school record at her high school … qualified for the 2016 JROTC National Championships by landing 70th out of 200+ shooters … competed with Piedra Vista JROTC for four years, serving both as the Battalion Operations Officer and as a Company Commander … also was the captain of the JROTC Precision Marksmanship Team.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Georgina and Emmanuel John … also has a younger sister … was introduced to shooting by her curiosity with her dad … fell in love with the sport after going on her first hunt with her dad … placed first in her initial sport air competition and continued to take first in the precision class since that point … proud of her Native American heritage, particularly being a part of the Navajo tribe … plans to pursue a degree in chemistry.
