2020 OUTDOOR
- Season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
2020 INDOOR (SENIOR)
- Set the UTEP program record in the 60m hurdles, clocking in a 7.89 and finishing fourth at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic.
- Named All-Conference USA first team (4x400m relay) and All-C-USA second team (60m hurdles)
- 4x400m relay won gold, clocking in a 3:12.18 at the Conference USA Championships.
- Took silver in the 60m H, running a 7.94 at the C-USA Championships.
- Ran a personal-best 6.96 in the 60m at the conference championships.
- Placed third in the 60m H with a time of 7.90 at the Texas Tech Corky Classic.
- Finished fourth in the 60m H, posting a 7.90 at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational.
- 4x400m relay took second place with a time of 3:14.69 at the MLK Invite.
- Recorded a 7.91 in the 60m H for a third-place finish at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational.
2019 OUTDOOR (JUNIOR)
- Posted a personal-best 50.86 in the 400m hurdles, claiming gold at the Conference USA Championships.
- Raced out to a gold-medal finish in the 110m hurdles at the UTEP Springtime, registering a time of 14.73 (w: 3.7).
- Took silver in the 110m hurdles at the Texas A&M Invitational, clocking in a time of 14.45 (w:2.1).
- Placed sixth in the 110m hurdles at the Conference USA Championships with a time of 14.40.
- Advanced to the NCAA West Preliminaries.
- Finished fourth (52.91) in the 400m hurdles at the Desert Heat Classic.
2019 INDOOR (JUNIOR)
- Notched a personal-best time of 7.95 at the Conference USA Championships in the 60m hurdles, also checking in third all-time in the UTEP record book.
- Earned silver in the 60m hurdles, clocking a time of 8.08 at the Texas A&M Triangular.
- Finished fifth in the 60m hurdles at the Texas Tech Corky Classic (8:14) and at the New Mexico Classic (8.27).
- Ran in the 4x400m relay, placing sixth (3:26.30) at the Texas Tech Corky Classic.
- Competed in the 4x400m relay at the C-USA Championships (3:21.14).
2018 OUTDOOR (SOPHOMORE)
- Earned a spot at the NCAA West Preliminaries in the 110m hurdles.
- Took bronze at the C-USA Championships in the 400m hurdles with a personal-best time of 51.95.
- Also competed in the 110m hurdles, 4x100m and 4x400m relay at the conference meet.
- Won the 110m hurdles at the Don Kirby Tailwind.
- Notched a silver finish and a career best of 13.97 at the Desert Heat Classic.
- Took second as a member of the 4x400 relay team at the Desert Heat Classic.
2018 INDOOR (SOPHOMORE)
- Set a career best at the Conference USA Indoor Track and Field Championships with a fourth place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.07.
- Achieved a personal best in the 200m with a time of 22.98 at the Commodore Invitational
- Snagged third place finish in the 60m hurdles at the meet.
- Finished third in the 60m hurdles (8.09) and fifth in the 4x400m (3:19.56) at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational.
- Took sixth place in the 60m hurdles with a readout of 8:14 and helped the 4x400m relay team secured eighth with a clocking of 3:30.83 at the Texas Tech Classic.
- Clocked in at 8:14 in the 60m hurdles at the New Mexico classic to secure fifth place.
PRIOR TO UTEP
- Competed in the 2016 Under 20 World Championships in the 110m hurdles registering a personal-best of 13.75.
- Competed in the 2017 NAIA Outdoor Championships in 400m hurdles registering a season-best with the time of 52.71.
PERSONAL: Shakeem Smith is the son of Mark and Shandy Smith … has two brothers ... multidisciplinary studies major.
