2024 OUTDOOR (SENIOR)
  • Ran a personal-best 16:28.32 in the 5000 at the Conference USA OTF Championships at Kidd Field. 
  • Placed fifth in the 5000, tallying four points at the championships. 
  • Clocked in a 1:56.21 in the 800 final, scoring four points. 
  • Opened the season at the Bryan Clay Invitational, posting a 3:52.06 in the 1500. 
  • Competed in the 800 and 1500 at the 64th Annual Mt. SAC Relays. 

2024 INDOOR (SENIOR)
  • Missed indoor season.

2023 OUTDOOR (JUNIOR)
  • Placed second in the 1500 with a 3:51.98 at the Willie Williams Classic/Dave Murray Distance Carnival. 
  • Competed in the 1500 at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
  • Finished sixth in the 1500 (3:45.84) at the Desert Heat Classic.
 
2023 INDOOR (JUNIOR)
  • Named All-CUSA first team in the mile and All-CUSA second team in the 800.
  • Captured gold in the mile with a 4:07.08 at the CUSA Championships in Birmingham, Ala.
  • Claimed silver in the 800 with a 1:53.35 at the CUSA Championships. 
  • Ran a personal-best 4:06.33 in the mile while finishing first at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational. 
  • Clocked in a personal-best 2:25.88 with a third-place showing in the 1000m at TTU Corky Classic. 

2022 OUTDOOR (SOPHOMORE)
  • Achieved first place the Conference USA Championships in the 1500m run (3:49.40).
  • Set career best in the 800m run (1:49.72) at the Sun Angel Classic.
  • Placed first in the 1500m run (3:45.16) at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
  • Took second place at the Desert Heat Classic in the 1500m run (3:46.32).

2022 INDOOR (SOPHOMORE)
  • Won gold in the mile race, clocking in a personal-best 4:06.81 at the Conference USA Championships.
  • Took second gold medal, winning the 800-meter race with a time of 1:53.37 at the C-USA Championships.
  • Took first in the mile race (4:08.75) at the Don Kirby Open & Elite.
  • Ran a personal-best 1:52.86 in the 800, placing fourth at the Don Kirby.
  • Opened season with a victory in the mile (4:10.08) at the Dr. MLK Jr. Collegiate Invitational. 
  • Ran first career 3000-meter event, placing second with a time of 8:25.14 at the New Mexico Team Open.
  • Competed with distance medley relay team that placed second (10:18.42) at the New Mexico Team Open.
 
2021 OUTDOOR (FRESHMAN) 
  • Took bronze in the 800-meter race, clocking in a time of 1:52.05 at the Conference USA Championships. 
  • Ran a personal-best 1:51.89 in the 800, finishing third at the Masked Rider Open.
  • Clocked in a personal-best 3:50.20 in the 1500 at the Texas Relays. 
  • Placed third (3:51.78) in the 1500 at the Desert Heat Classic.
  • Opened season with a second-place showing (3:52.21) in the 1500 at the UTSA Invitational.
  • Competed in the 1500, advancing to the finals at the C-USA Championships. 
 
2020 OUTDOOR
  • Season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic. 
 
2020 INDOOR (FRESHMAN)
  • Took second in the 1000m with a time of 2:31.31 at the Texas Tech Corky Classic
  • Clocked in a personal-best 4:12.63 in the mile, placing sixth at the Conference USA Championships.
  • Posted a personal-best 1:54.31 in the 800m, finishing sixth at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic.
  • Tallied a fourth-place finish with a time of 4:18.01 in the mile at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational. 

PRIOR TO UTEP
  • Placed first in the one mile indoor (4:27.56) at the 2019 Great Southwest Classic in Albuquerque, N.M.
  • Two-time national cross country finalist.
  • 2000m U16 Mexican record holder.
  • Two-time national 2000m champion U16.
  • Two-time national 800m champion (U16, U18).
  • National 1,500m champion (U18).
  • National 1,500m bronze (U20). 

PERSONAL: Kenneth Talavera is the son of Juan Antonio Talavera and Elizabeth Ruiz … has one brother … born Cd. Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico … mechanical engineering major.
