| Athlete of the Year |
Presented to one male and one female student-athlete who has reached the highest level of athletic success at UTEP. Recipients may be at any stage of their collegiate career. The award is based solely on the athletic success demonstrated by each individual student-athlete. |
| Upperclassmen of the Year |
Presented to one male and one female student-athlete upperclassman who makes an impact on their team. |
| Underclassmen of the Year |
Presented to one male and one female student-athlete underclassman who makes an impact on their team. |
| Team of the Year |
This award goes to the team that has a successful season and represents UTEP well in the conference and in the nation. |
| Best Comeback |
This award is given to a student-athlete who struggled at the beginning with an athletic performance but then comes back to succeed or win, showing an inspirational comeback to Miner Nation. |
| Unsung Hero |
An inspirational and humble leader on a UTEP team who has been a critical part of their team's success by overcoming odds and rising up to be an "unsung hero." |
| Thomas Howard Academics & Athletics Achievement Awards (Male & Female) |
These awards are presented to the UTEP walk-on student athletes who have excelled academically and athletically. They are presented by the Thomas Howard Foundation in honor of former football player Thomas Howard, who passed away in a car accident at the age of 30 in 2013. |
| Moment of the Year |
This award is given to the student-athlete with the most exciting or most dramatic athletic play during the season. |
| Community Service Award |
Presented by Life Skills to the team that has accumulated the most hours of individual and team community service. |
| Team MVP Awards |
Presented to the student-athlete that has achieved outstanding success in their respective sport. |
| Conference USA Awards |
| Sport Academic Award |
Awarded to the team in each conference sponsored sport with the highest GPA for the current academic year |
| Post-Graduate Scholarships |
Twelve awards of $4,000 each for graduates of each academic year. The Faculty Athletic Representative will determine the recipients at the conference's spring meetings. At least two awards must go to women and two to men. Recipients of the Conference USA post-graduate scholarships must enroll in a graduate program within three years of receipt of the award. |
| Athlete of the Year |
Presented to a male and female athlete of the year at the end of the academic year. The award is based solely on athletic achievement during the academic year and the winners are determined through a vote by the league's Athletic Directors. |
| Sportsmanship Award |
Presented to student-athletes, coaches, or teams that perform an individual act of positive sporting behavior or generally conduct themselves with a high degree of good sportsmanship. Individuals and teams can be nominated by any staff member of a C-USA institution or the conference office. |
| Academic Awards |
| Verizon Academic All-American, C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll, Athletic Director's List, Athletic Director's Team GPA Award, C-USA Scholar Athlete Award, UTEP Top Ten Senior Award, and Academic Momentum Award presented by Scholar-Baller and NCAS |

Graduation Brunch
All student-athletes are invited to attend the UTEP Athletics Graduation Brunch during the day of their commencement. It is held in the Larry K. Durham Hall of Champions for both winter and spring commencement and several athletic department staff members speak to honor each graduating athlete's individual achievements. Student-athletes also receive personalized memorabilia to commemorate their athletic participation.
Graduation Stoles
Student-athletes receive recognition during their graduation ceremony by wearing their distinguished student-athlete graduation stoles. These can be picked up in the Brumbelow Building a few weeks prior to their graduation ceremony.
Other athletic recognition events include Student-Athlete Faculty Appreciation Night, Football and Basketball halftime appearances, and the Faculty Coach Program.
