UTEP Athletic Training Apprenticeship Application Form

The UTEP Sports Medicine Department offers an apprenticeship program for any UTEP student interested in gaining valuable clinical experience in an NCAA Division I athletics environment. Our apprenticeship program provides real-world clinical instruction in injury prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation, as well as acute and emergency care, note writing, taping, and many other athletic training skills. We accept every level from incoming freshmen to last semester seniors, and do not require prior experience in athletic training.

Whether your post-grad goals are AT, PT, OT, DC, or MD, our apprenticeship program will empower you with real-world experience to build your career on. Our students attend regular educational sessions hosted by both staff and guest speakers, and have assignments throughout the semester to help further their educational experience. Students in our program have a minimum 25hr/week commitment with their assigned sport and must maintain a 2.25 cumulative and semester GPA.

We accept applications for the fall semester until July 1, and for the spring semester until January 1. Scholarship opportunities are available after 1 year in the program. Any inquiries and all applications can be submitted to Kayleigh Roberts at karoberts@utep.edu
