- Compete in two regular-season events in 2024.
- Posted a personal-best 26:56.8 in the 8k at the Texas Tech Open.
- Clocked in a personal-best 16:17.8 in the 5k at the Lori Fitzgerald Open.
PRIOR TO UTEP
- Competed at Eastern New Mexico during the 2023 season.
- Ran all six competitions in 2023.
- Top 8k came at the Greyhound Invitational taking second with a 27:09.1 time.
- Placed 51st at conference meet hosted in Portales.
- Took seventh at the Mustang Derby running the 6k course in 20:43.4.
- Two-year varsity runner at Burges High School.
- Ran 16:32 for a 5k.
- Helped team clinch 2021 district championship.
PERSONAL: Matthew Guerra is the son of Jaime and Graciela Guerra ... has one brother and two sisters ... born in El Paso ... received Spirit of Mustang Award Outstanding Citizen in 2023 ... biomedical science major.
