PRIOR TO UTEP: Texas Catholic Association Football (TCAF) All-State pick as a sophomore and senior at Immanuel Christian High School in El Paso ... also an All-District and All-City wideout, as well as a private schools MVP while playing six-man football ... saw action at four positions (wide receiver, running back, linebacker, safety) over the course of his four-year prep career ... also kicked field goals and extra points ... played for three different coaches in high school ... earned All-City honors in basketball as well ... helped Immanuel Christian capture the state title in basketball his sophomore year, when he was named MVP of the championship game ... also ran track in high school ... a National Hispanic Scholar.
