Beau Smith will serve as a graduate assistant during his second season with the UTEP football program in 2019. Smith will assume duties with the offense. 

Smith assumed duties as an assistant football coach at Rouse High School in Leander, Texas, during the 2017 season. 

The native of Cedar Park, Texas, played tight end at Sam Houston State from 2011-15. Smith played at Cedar Park High School, while earning first team All-District honors in 2010. UTEP head coach Dana Dimel – while at Kansas State – recruited Smith out of high school.
