2012-09: Played football for UTEP from 2012 to 2009 ... as a junior was a quality defender in the open field, with a team-high 38 solo stops ... also tied for second on the team in interceptions (two) and third in pass break-ups (five) ... in 2010, was credited with 69 tackles, including 38 solos, while adding five pass break-ups and two forced fumbles ... earned himself a spot on the 2009 Conference USA All-Freshman team by ranking fifth on the team with 65 tackles (39 solos) despite starting only five games.

High School: Earned three letters while competing in track and field, competing in the 100, 200, 4x100 relay and the long jump ... member of the honor roll and selected as the student of the month on one occasion.
