PRIOR TO UTEP: Garnered All-League, All-County and all CIF honors as a senior ... his efforts helped Redlands East Valley High post a record of 12-1 and advance to the semifinals of the state tournament ... selected to play in the Southern California Bowl ... three-year letterwinner for coach Kurt Bruich, starting every game during his junior and senior seasons ... cites a two-interception game, including one for a TD, against Norco High in the quarterfinals of the state tournament as his biggest thrill in sports ... four-year letterwinner in track and field, completing in the shot put, discus, high jump, hurdles and 100 meters.
