UTEP ITEM: Received his bachelor[apos]s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies in May, 2009 and will play his senior year as a graduate student. 2008: Medical redshirt with a shoulder injury. 2007 (JUNIOR): Compiled two tackles, an interception and a pass break-up in a reserve role ... picked off a pass versus Texas Southern. PRIOR TO UTEP: Posted 45 tackles, four interceptions, 10 pass break-ups and two fumble recoveries in 2006 at New Mexico Military Institute ... earned National Special Teams Player of the Week honors after returning a field goal attempt 100 yards for a touchdown against Ranger College ... second team All-Conference selection as a freshman in 2005 ... two-time Western States Football League Player of the Week ... he first earned the honor in 2005 after recording 15 solo tackles and an interception against Phoenix College ... recognized again in 2006 after returning the field goal attempt for a score versus Ranger College ... was a teammate of UTEP[apos]s Charles Ofili at NMMI ... junior college coach was Jeff Lynn ... attended Samuel Clemens High School in his hometown of Schertz, Texas ... also competed in basketball and track in high school.
