2008 (JUNIOR): Started every game at nose tackle ... led all Miner defensive linemen with 32 tackles ... also had 4.5 tackles for losses, 1.5 sacks, a pass break-up, forced fumble and four quarterback pressures ... had a big game in the season finale at East Carolina, where he was credited with a career-best nine tackles and 1.5 tackles for losses ... responsible for five assisted tackles, including one behind the line of scrimmage, versus Texas ... posted four tackles and two quarterback hurries, including a half-sack, against Rice ... deflected a pass at Houston to go with three stops and a sack.
2007 (SOPHOMORE): Made seven starts at right tackle ... amassed 29 tackles on the season, including three for losses ... also had 1.5 sacks and three quarterback hurries ... recorded a season-high eight tackles against New Mexico ... had four stops versus Houston and UCF ... credited with 1.5 sacks against the Cougars and added a tackle for loss at Rice.
2006 (FRESHMAN): Reserve defensive lineman played in 11 games ... posted five tackles on the season, including three at New Mexico.
2005: Redshirted ... received the Miners[apos] defensive scout team award.
PRIOR TO UTEP: District 1-4A defensive MVP as a senior at Chapin High School ... also tabbed honorable mention All-State by the Texas Sportswriters and first team All-West Region after tallying 119 tackles and seven sacks ... led Chapin High to an 11-1 mark his junior year, contributing 95 stops and 15 sacks ... two-time first team All-District and first team All-City player at Chapin ... honorable mention All-District as a sophomore ... three-year varsity letterwinner for coach Daren Walker ... competed in wrestling for one year, and track and field for four years ... regional qualifier in the shot put in 2005 ... involved with the Optimist Club and Youth Leadership during his high school years.
