Biography

2021 REDSHIRT SENIOR

  • Played in two games before missing the remainder of the season due to injury.
  • Caught three passes for 27 yards.
  • Reeled in a pair of receptions for 21 yards at Boise State.
  • Recorded a 14-yard reception against the Broncos. 
  • Tallied a six-yard reception agains NM State. 

2020 (REDSHIRT SENIOR)

  • Played in all eight games for the Miners, including making seven starts on the campaign.
  • Had 20 catches for 202 yards (10.1 ypc) and an average of 25.2 receiving yards per game.
  • Had a season-high 66 receiving yards on three catches in UTEP’s road game at North Texas.
  • Also served as a kick returner for the Miners on special teams.
  • Led UTEP with 10 kick returns for 277 yards (27.7 avg.), including a long return of 95 yards at UTSA. 
  • Had five kick returns for 167 yards in UTEP’s game at UTSA.
  • Had five kick returns for 110 yards in UTEP's road game at North Texas. 


2019 (REDSHIRT JUNIOR)

  • Played in all 12 games for the Miners, including making one start at Texas Tech.
  • Had six catches for 78 yards (13.0 ypc) and an average of 6.5 receiving yards per game.
  • Had a season-high three catches for 42 yards in UTEP’s road game at NM State.
  • Also served as a returner for the Miners on special teams.
  • Led UTEP with 13 kick returns for 286 yards (22.0 avg.), including a long return of 33.
  • Had four kick returns for 91 yards in UTEP’s game at Southern Miss.
  • Had two punt returns on the season against Houston Baptist and Southern Miss.


2018 (JUNIOR)

  • Played in first four games of campaign before redshirting the remainder of the season.
  • Recorded four receptions for 57 yards (14.2 avg.) and gained 10 yards on only rushing attempt.
  • Opened campaign with three receptions for 30 yards with a long catch of 21 yards against Northern Arizona.
  • Tallied a season-long reception of 27 yards and rushed for 10 yards at UNLV. 


2017 (SOPHOMORE)

  • Played in all 12 games, making three starts.
  • Rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown.
  • Caught 12 passes for 107 yards.
  • Made first career start overall at the tailback position at No. 7 Oklahoma where he rushed for career-high 56 yards on career-most seven carries.
  • Added a career-long run of 29 yards and scored on a 17-yard touchdown rush against the Sooners.
  • Ran for 24 yards against Rice.
  • Hauled in four receptions for 50 yards with a season-long 38-yard catch against Arizona.
  • Tallied a 31-yard reception versus WKU.
  • Recorded a 15-yard catch at Southern Miss and a 12-yard reception against UTSA. 


2016 (FRESHMAN)

  • Played in all 12 games as a true freshman.
  • Scored three touchdowns during breakout game in a 5OT victory at UTSA.
  • Became first UTEP freshman to score three touchdowns in a single game since 1985.
  • Racked up a career-high 112 all-purpose yards, while scoring on a 74-yard reception (UTEP season-long) and finding the end zone two more times on a pair of rushes (eight and 12-yard scoring runs) against the Roadrunners.
  • Overall in 2016, produced 121 yards on six receptions and rushed for 59 yards on 12 carries (4.9 avg.).
  • Returned 13 kickoffs for 220 yards with a long return of 27 yards.
  • Saw first extensive action at No. 11 Texas, registering a trio of receptions for 19 yards and returning three kickoffs for 52 yards.
  • Hauled in a 31-yard reception against Army.
  • Tallied 76 all-purpose yards (16 rush yards, 60 kickoff return yards) against Old Dominion.


HIGH SCHOOL

  • Played on the varsity football team at Poteet High School for three seasons.
  • During senior year, tallied 746 yards on 106 carries (7.0 avg.) and 44 receptions for 858 yards (19.5 avg.).
  • Notched a career-best 402 all-purpose yards in victory over Wylie East, running for 141 yards, 213 receiving yards, two kick returns for 40 yards and an interception for eight yards.
  • Was named SportsDay HS Offensive Player of the Week for showing against Wylie East.
  • Opened the season with back-to-back games of over 200 all-purpose yards.
  • Ran for career-best 173 yards on 14 carries with three catches for 44 yards and a punt return for 28 yards in win over Berkner.
  • Tallied eight showings of 100-plus all-purpose yards and four for 200-plus yards.
  • As a sophomore, helped the team go 12-2 overall and 6-1 in league play.
  • Dashed for 645 yards on 63 carries and had 38 receptions for 558 yards.
  • Racked up seven performances with over 100 all-purpose yards.
  • Named to 2015 12-5A All-District first team offense.
  • A three-star recruit according to Scout.com.
