UTEP Miners

A Anderson MBB

Aaron Anderson

Aaron Anderson will begin his first season as a graduate assistant under UTEP Head Coach Rodney Terry during the 2019-20 season.

Anderson is no stranger to Terry’s style as he played for him at Fresno State during the 2012-13 season. Anderson started in 12 of 27 games played as a true freshman and was named to the 2012-13 Academic All-Mountain West team.

Anderson, a native of Edmond, Okla., transferred to The University of Central Oklahoma following the birth of his son. He started all 30 games for the Broncos, averaging 14.2 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per contest. Anderson earned all-conference honors following his successful sophomore campaign (2013-14).

Following his lone season in Edmond, Anderson transferred to Oral Roberts where he played for Scott and Sean Sutton. He sat out the 2014-15 season due to NCAA transfer rules. Anderson then made 19 starts in 30 games played during his redshirt junior season (2015-16) and started in all 25 games played during the 2016-17 season (missed five games in the middle of the season due to an injury).

Anderson graduated with a bachelors in Sports Management from ORU in 2017.

Prior to his collegiate basketball career, Anderson played his high school ball at Edmond Santa Fe High School. He was named all-district and was an Edmond Sun All-City pick during his senior year. Anderson led the Wolves to the Class 6A State Tournament.

Anderson’s first coaching gig came at his high school alma mater Edmond Santa Fe for two seasons (2017-18, 2018-19). He is now pursuing a Master’s in Leadership Studies and Community Engagement.
