Devon Crabtree

Devon Crabtree will enter his first season as a graduate assistant with the UTEP basketball program. 

Crabtree graduated with a sports management degree from Cameron University in 2013, while playing two years for the Aggies. He most recently served on the coaching staff at Paris Junior College last season where the squad finished 23-7 and were ranked as high as no. 14 in the country.

Prior to Paris, Crabtree spent four seasons on the coaching staff at Neosho County Community College. Crabtree worked directly with the 2014-15 Jayhawk Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Jo Lual-Acuil Jr., 2014-15 All-Jayhawk Conference first team guard BJ Jenkins and 2015-16 All-Jayhawk first team forward Richard Granberry. While at Neosho, the Panthers were 60-38, earned the program’s first Region 6 championship and earned the program’s first trip to the NJCAA Division 1 National Championship.

Crabtree’s playing career started at Kansas Wesleyan University before transferring to Neosho County Community College. Crabtree led the Panthers with 65 made three-point field goals. A native of Chanute, Kan., Crabtree capped his playing career in style at Cameron, where poured in a career-high 30 points on “Senior Night”.

Crabtree and his wife Taylor married in the spring of 2016.
