Mahki Morris will enter the 2025-26 season in his second year as a graduate assistant for the UTEP men's basketball team.
After a successful collegiate career, Morris competed professionally in both Ireland and England.
Morris was a three-year (2019-22) letter winner at Abilene Christian, and he was mentored by UTEP head coach Joe Golding in his first two seasons. Morris appeared in 82 contests, including 44 starts, averaging 7.9 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 1.2 apg and 1.1 spg in 19.6 mpg. He was a key cog for the 2020-21 squad that upset third-seed Texas in the opening round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament. He reached double figures six times on the year, including a season-best 14 points vs. UCLA in the second round of the Big Dance.
Previously he was a two-year (2017-19) standout at Cochise College. He tallied nearly 1,000 points (958) while competing in 63 contests. The Apaches finished a combined 49-14 during that timeframe while advancing to the playoffs both seasons.
Morris is a native of Philadelphia, Pa. He graduated from ACU in 2022 with a degree in liberal studies.
