PRIOR TO UTEP: Finished the 2010 season at Pima Community College with a batting average of .445 (ranked 16th in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference), 81 RBI[apos]s (second in the ACCAC), 20 doubles and 101 hits ... batted .367 in 2011 ...led the team with seven home runs ... registered a .987 fielding percentage ... named to the All-ACCAC second team ... appeared in five consecutive ASA National Championships with Tucson Elite.

PERSONAL: Born in Tucson, Ariz. On June 22, 1991 Charissa Ann Ballestros is the daughter of Angel and Joy Ballestros ... her uncle Eddie Leon played 15 years in Major League Baseball and her grandfather Angel Ballestros Sr. was a member of the U.S. Army National baseball team from 1951-55 ... mechanical engineering major.
