2010 (FRESHMAN):Played in 10 games for the Miners ... made first collegiate appearance against Weber State (Feb. 26), scoring one run as a pinch runner ... drew two walks.

PRIOR TO UTEP: An El Paso native, Carrion played shortstop and pitcher at J.M. Hanks High School ... a two-time All-District 1-5A selection and was named an El Paso Times top-10 Player to Watch in 2008 ... led the Knights to a district championship with a region-high batting average of .409 in 2008 ... also played basketball where she was named El Paso Times All-City Honorable Mention.

PERSONAL: Crystal Carrion is the daughter of Andrew and Gaby Carrions ... born Dec. 26, 1990 in El Paso, Texas ... has one brother (A.J.) ... kinesiology major ... hobbies include reading and playing basketball.
