Biography

PRIOR TO UTEP
  • Clocked in a PR time of 2:01.79 in the 800-meter run and placed third at the 2024 District 29 & 30 4A Area Meet while competing at Floresville High School.
  • Finished runner-up in the 800 with a 2:01.79 at the 2024 UIL 4A-District 29. 
  •  Won the 800 at the 2024 Brush Country Relays (2:05.00) and La Vernia Relays (2:02.68). 
  • Competed in the discus and shot put in high school. 

PERSONAL: Diego Fernandez is the son of Manuel and Terry Fernandez … has one brother and one sister … born in San Antonio, Texas … kinesiology major.
