Biography
UTEP Track Career: 2007 (Freshman): Outdoor: Ran the leadoff leg of
the 400 relay at the Conference USA Championships ... unit earned runner
up honors with a time of 40.22 ... also scored points for UTEP at the meet in
the 100m dash, doing so with a time of 10.69 to claim third place. Indoor:
Secured fourth place at the C-USA championship in the 60m with a time of
6.86 ... effort helped UTEP to a second-place showing at the event ... eighth
place in the 60m in the season-opening Lobo Invite.
Football: 2007: Redshirted.
2006 (Freshman): Pulled from redshirt for the final seven games of the
season ... went on to rush for 76 yards on 21 carries (3.6 avg.) ... also
caught 12 passes for 218 yards, a team-leading 18.2-yard average ... had
two catches for 94 yards against the Blazers ... two receptions for 74 yards
(long of 71) versus Memphis ... three receptions for 31 yards at Marshall ...
picked up his season-high four catches against Tulane ... rushed four times
for a season-best 33 yards at Marshall.
Before UTEP: Listed as a Texas Top-300 player by Dave Campbell[apos]s Texas
Football magazine ... third team All-State 5A honoree by the Texas Sportswriters
as a senior at Copperas Cove High School ... also first team All-District
13-5A and fi rst team All-Centex in 2005 ... rushed for 1,546 yards on 217
carries (7.1 avg.) with 26 touchdowns ... also caught seven passes totaling
58 yards, and returned four kickoffs for 83 yards (20.8 avg.) ... earned first
team All-District and second team All-Centex honors as a junior ... played
two years of varsity ball, seeing action at tailback, slot receiver and cornerback
while also returning kicks ... ran track as well ... advanced to state in
the 4x200 relay as a freshman and junior, and in the 100 as a junior.
