PRIOR TO UTEP
- Competed at Hutchinson Community College for two seasons (2023-2024).
- Clocked in a season-best 4:31.72 in the mile at the 2024 Ichabod Invitational.
- Posted a season-best 2:46.64 in the 1000 at the 2024 Region VI/KJCCC Indoor Championships.
- Turned in a season-best time 4:15.04 in the 1500 at the 2024 16th Annual David Suenram Gorilla Classic.
- Clocked in a personal-best 1:58.71 in the 800 at the 2024 Wichita State KT Woodman Classic.
- Finished fifth in the 4x800 (8:15.49) and fourth in the DMR (10:43.93) at the Region VI Indoor Championships.
- Placed fourth in the 800 with a 2:01.76 at the 2023 Tabor Invite.
PERSONAL: Evan Avitia is the son of Daniel Avitia and Marisol Solis … has two brothers and two sisters … born in El Paso … coached by Miner great and El Paso Athletics Hall of Famer Kenneth Lucero at Americas High School … multidisciplinary studies major.
