2018-19 (SOPHOMORE): Shot both disciplines in all 14 competitions, pacing the team in average for aggregate (1153) and air rifle (584) while rating second in smallbore (569) ... set career highs for aggregate (1162) and air rifle (589) in the season opener at TCU (9/23/18) ... fired a personal-best 575 in smallbore vs. Nevada in Alaska (1/31/19) ... responsible for the top aggregate score in a squad-best eight matches, including the final five of the season ... fired the best score in air rifle in a team-most nine matches and doing so in smallbore a squad-best six times ... consistent in air rifle, with a readout of at least 580 in 12 of the 14 matches ... came within one (588) of her career high in air rifle in the NCAA qualifier match (2/16/19) ... shot a team-best aggregate (1159) at the PRC Championships (2/3-4/19), helping the Miners post their best aggregate at the event since joining the league ... led the squad in both disciplines in four different matches (at TCU, 9/23/18; Ohio State, 9/29/18 and 9/30/18 and vs. Nevada in Alaska, 1/31/19) ... the only other Miner to pace the team in both disciplines in a match was Maranda Nelson in a tri-angular meet with Air Force and Nevada (10/13/18).
2017-18 (FRESHMAN): Shot both disciplines in all 12 matches for the Miners ... ranked second on the team in average for air rifle (581) while sharing second in aggregate (1144) ... averaged 563 in smallbore ... posted a season-high 587 air rifle score while also pacing the team in the event in the Patriot Rifle League Championships (2/4/18) ... also led the Miners with an aggregate of 1153 at the league's pinnacle event ... fired better than 580 in air rifle in seven matches, including two times she topped the squad ... recorded a personal best of 570 in smallbore against Jacksonville State (1/28/18) ... set a career high for aggregate (1154) in a triangular meet vs. TCU and Jacksonville State (1/27/18) ... topped the Orange and Blue in air rifle (584) and aggregate (1152) at Nevada (10/14-15/17) ... came within one point (586) of her career high for air rifle in the NCAA Qualifier (2/17/18) ... only Miner on the squad to eclipse 570 in every air rifle competition of the campaign.
PRIOR TO UTEP: Developed her love for competitive shooting by participating in the Utah High School Rodeo 3P sporter event in 2013 … qualified for and took part in the 2014 High School National Finals … 2014-15 Utah High School Rodeo Rifle State Champion … began competing in precision rifle with the Springville Jr. Rifle Club in the fall of 2013 … also is a member of the Utah Precision Marksmanship Society … holds the range record in air rifle at the University of Utah … competed in many NRA postal and sectional matches, receiving both local and national recognition … qualified for the Junior Olympics in 2015 (air rifle), 2016 (air rifle and smallbore) and 2017 (smallbore) … helped her team take second place at the 2015 Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Western Regional Matches … also took place in the event in 2016 and 2017 …posted the seventh-best individual score to advance to the finals in 2017 … effort earned her an individual invitation to compete in the CMP 3P Nationals … spent the past four years has teaching hunter education classes and mentoring younger shooters at her club …
PERSONAL: Daughter of Steven and Krista Boyce and the big sister to Katie, her shooting partner ... graduated from Maple Mountain High School (Spanish Fork, Utah) in spring 2017 … loves to read, be in the outdoors and travel with her family … also has a great love for animals … kinesiology major.
