Barreiro

Bri Barreiro

Former Miner (2013-16) Bri Barreiro has returned to her hometown and alma mater to serve as a graduate assistant.

Her duties include, but are not limited to, game-day video and assisting with both practice and game-day set-up.

Barreiro was a four-year starter who thrived while playing for the Orange and Blue. A selfless individual, she registered 10 goals and 10 assists for 30 points. She started 69 of 76 games played, including all 22 as a senior, and logged more than 5,000 minutes of career playing time.

She helped UTEP post a combined record of 48-25-11 during her four years with the program. In 2016 the Miners recorded 13 wins (their most since 2009) and advanced to the semifinals of the Conference USA Women's Soccer Championships. That year she tied for third on the squad in goals (three), assists (four) and points (10).

As a junior Barreiro shared fourth on the squad with three goals while also adding an assist for a total of seven points. She started 19 of 20 contests played and was on the pitch for at least 70 minutes in nine tilts.

In 2014 she started 16 of 19 matches, tying for second on the squad in assists (four) and placing third in both goals (three) and points (10).

As a freshman Barreiro battled through injuries to play in 15 matches. She chipped in one goal and one helper.

Barreiro also was an excellent student during her time with the Orange and Blue. She was a four-time recipient of the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal (min. 3.75 cumulative GPA). She was also voted to the C-USA Women's Soccer All-Academic Team twice and was an Academic All-District honoree once.

She graduated from UTEP in May 2017 with a degree in business management.
