UTEP Miners

Jorge Araiza joined the UTEP volleyball staff in the fall of 2020 after spending nine years coaching at the high school and club levels. 

Araiza took a volunteer team manager position with UTEP in 2020 and was elevated to a graduate assistant coach in 2022. While working alongside the Miners, he kickstarted his own team in 2020, the Sun City Royals, where he was the Head Coach and Director of Operations. He then moved on to coach the Texas Storm in 2022. 

Prior to UTEP, he was the assistant coach for the Texas Performance Volleyball Club from 2015-19. The team won the regionals title and was a national qualifier every year. 

Araiza graduated from Gadsden High School in 2014, where he coached the Junior Varsity team from 2015-17.
