UTEP Miners

Alexis Bandin

Alexis Bandin joined the UTEP Softball staff as assistant coach in July of 2025.

During her tenure at Prairie View A&M University, Bandin was instrumental in guiding the program to three consecutive SWAC Western Division Championships (2023, 2024, 2025) and a 2023 SWAC Tournament Championship, helping PVAMU become one of the most consistent and competitive teams in the conference. Her ability to elevate pitching staffs and maximize individual player performance was evident throughout.

In 2025, Bandin mentored Cailin Massey, who earned SWAC Pitcher of the Year honors and a First Team All-SWAC nod. That same season, Brielle Moreno joined the All-Conference ranks with a Second Team selection, and PVAMU secured its third straight Western Division title.

The 2024 campaign saw Bandin again help guide Prairie View to the top of the division, with Breanna Reyna and standout catcher Biviana Figueroa each earning First Team All-SWAC honors under her development.

In 2023, Bandin helped orchestrate a breakthrough season, with PVAMU capturing both the Western Division and SWAC Tournament titles. That year, three players earned All-SWAC recognition: Cailin Massey and Biviana Figueroa on the First Team, and Jerrica Rojas on the Second Team.

Prior to her success at PVAMU, Bandin served as an assistant coach at Union College (Ky.) during the 2021 season, where she helped guide the team to a 14-7 record and a 3-1 mark in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play before the season was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

She began her coaching career in 2017 with the RedHawks Softball Organization in Mesa, Ariz., before taking over as the head freshmen coach at Mesa High School in 2018. She later joined Shorter University (Ga.) as a graduate assistant and pitching coach, earning her master's degree in sport management.

A native of Chandler, Arizona, Bandin launched her playing career at South Mountain Community College before transferring to the University of Charleston (W.Va.), where she was part of the Golden Eagles squad that reached the 2016 NCAA Division II Women's College World Series. She graduated in 2017 with a degree in business administration.
