Dale Brown joined UTEP Athletics as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance in September of 2025.
 
Previously, Brown spent three-plus years (2022-2025) at East Texas A&M.  He began his tenure with the Lions as Associate Athletic Director for Compliance & Student Services, prior to being elevated to Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance & Student Services.  Brown sat on the Athletics Executive Team at East Texas A&M and fills a similar role at UTEP, while serving as the sport administrator for the nationally renowned Miner indoor volleyball program.

In addition to serving as Senior Compliance Administrator during East Texas A&M’s reclassification from NCAA Division II to NCAA Division I, Brown oversaw the compliance office, and served as the athletics liaison with the Office of Financial Aid, Office of the Registrar, Office of Admissions, International Office, the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities, and the Housing Office.  He also oversaw the department’s Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) program while serving as sport administrator for the women’s soccer and softball teams.
 
He spent four years (2018-22) at Weber State.  He started as Compliance Coordinator before being promoted to Associate Director of Compliance. 
 
Brown also worked at UCF as Compliance Assistant (2017-2018), Fairmont State as Compliance and Internal Operations intern (2015), and North Carolina Wilmington as Compliance and Student-Athlete Services intern (2014).
 
He earned his Juris Doctorate from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2016.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Southern Virginia in 2013, where he was a scholarship student-athlete as a member of the baseball team.  He also served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and worked part-time in the Sports Information department while at Southern Virginia.
