Daniel Garcia is entering his 10th season with UTEP Athletics in the fall of 2025 and serves as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Business, Finance and Facilities/CFO. He oversees all the financial activities within the department as well as reporting. On top of the finances, he oversees the Athletic Business Office, Human Resources, Legal/Contracts, Equipment Services, Facilities, Capital Projects and serves as the sports supervisor for women’s basketball and soccer.
In his time with the athletic department he has overseen numerous facility improvement projects such as: Sun Bowl renovation and modernization, Sun Bowl and Softball turf replacement projects, Gordon Family Courtside Club construction, football locker room upgrades, tennis locker room upgrades, volleyball and Memorial Gym upgrades – new video board and locker rooms, men’s and women’s basketball coaches offices renovation, football coaches offices renovation and the track replacement project.
Prior to moving over athletics, Garcia worked in the University budget office, focusing primarily on auxiliary budgets, forecasting and legislative fiscal notes.
Garcia graduated with his Bachelors from UTEP in December of 2009 and his MBA in the Spring of 2012. He was a member of the UTEP football team from 2005-2009, playing on the offensive line.
