Maryn Herring started with the UTEP sports medicine team in June of 2024. Her primary responsibility is the health care and rehabilitation of the women's basketball and women's golf teams.
Prior to coming to UTEP, Herring spent two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Lamar University, working with the football, men's golf, and track and field teams. Additionally, she earned her Master's in Public Health from Lamar in May of 2024.
Herring graduated from Wilmington College in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training as well as a Bachelor of Art in Spanish. As an athletic training student, she worked primarily with the Fighting Quakers' men's lacrosse and men's wrestling teams. She also gained experience through professional internships with FC Cincinatti's Youth Academy as well as the Cincinnati Bengals during their 2021-22 season.
Herring is a native of Columbus, Ohio, and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
