Wyatt Young will enter his first season as a graduate assistant with the UTEP men's basketball team for the 2025-26 campaign. 

Young comes to UTEP from Stephen F. Austin University where he held the same position under Coach Kyle Keller. Prior to SFA, Young spent a year coaching for the International Sports Academy, a prep school in Sandusky Ohio. 

Young is reunited with current UTEP assistant coach Steve Green, where he served as a student assistant at South Plains College for two seasons under the Hall of Fame Coach. There, Young was a part of two NJCAA Tournament teams, including helping the team go 22-9 to clinch an at-large bid in 2020. The program won the WJCAC and ultimately advanced to the Elite 8 at the tournament in 2021, a year which featured a 17-0 start to the seasons.

After SPC, Young spent two seasons at Texas Tech. In his first year there the Red Raiders went 27-10, with a perfect 18-0 record at home. That Red Raiders eventually made the Sweet 16 at the NCAA Tournament after posting the top Defensive Efficiency in America.

Young has an associate of sciences degree from South Plains College, and a bachelor's degree in sports management from Texas Tech University. Young is pursuing his master’s degree in leadership studies at UTEP. 

Young is from Bertram, Texas and is a graduate of Burnet High School.
