ORLANDO, Fla. - The UTEP softball team fell to UCF, 8-0, in five innings in game one and 3-2 in game two on Saturday at the UCF Softball Complex.
Game One
The Knights' pitching conquered Miner hitters as Mackenzie Audas threw her second career no-hitter, striking out eight.
Game Two
The Miners tied things up at 2-2 when a pitch hit senior Charrisa Ballesteros with bases loaded in the fifth inning, but the Knights won, 3-2, when Farrah Sullivan hit a walk-off single to right center that brought Maddy Schroeder across the dish. Senior Kayleigh Walts had a hit with an RBI and junior Erika Arcuri added two hits on the day. Senior Ashley Collazo went 1-for-2 with a run scored. Freshman Danielle Pearson made her home coming as the Orlando native started the game, throwing 6.2 innings, allowing one run and fanning four.
The Miners (12-21, 1-9 C-USA) and Knights (20-21, 3-11 C-USA) play the series finale at 9 a.m. MT on Sunday.
