EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP rifle team surpassed an aggregate of 4600 (4601) for the third consecutive match while sharing the range with Alaska-Fairbanks (4647) at the UTEP rifle range on Thursday.

UTEP fired a season-high 2285 in smallbore and 2316 in air rifle. The Miners have now shot at least 2284 in smallbore in three different matches for the first time since the 2011-12 season (eight).

"Rifle is one of those sports that consistency is key," UTEP head coach
Austin Litherland said. "The team is showing me that they are consistent. The lessons on the range are sticking with them, and they are improving on those lessons. I think the team even surprised themselves today."

Freshman
Morgahn Warner fired an aggregate of 1157, posting 580 in smallbore (one shy of her career high) and 577 in air rifle.

Jessica Boyce recorded an aggregate of 1153, using 570 in smallbore and 583 in air rifle.

Mara Rouse notched an aggregate of 1153, registering 572 in smallbore and 581 in air rifle.

Maranda Nelson checked in with an aggregate of 1136, shooting 561 in smallbore and 575 in air rifle.

Josephine John finished with a career-high aggregate (1136), tallying 559 in smallbore and 577 in air rifle.

Samantha Miller produced an aggregate of 1134, compiling 563 in smallbore and 571 in air rifle.
