EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP rifle team will square off Nevada on the campus of Alaska-Fairbanks on Thursday. It is the final standard match of the season, with the Patriot Rifle Conference Championships (Feb. 2-3), the NCAA Qualifier (Feb. 16) and NCAA Championships (March 8-9) remaining on the docket afterwards.

"Tomorrow we shoot our last regular match against Reno," UTEP head coach Austin Litherland said. "The team will be well prepared and well rested for this match. We just need to keep our eye on the target, relax, and trust our shot process."

It will be the first of three days of shooting in Alaska, with the conference championships slated for Saturday (smallbore) and Sunday (air rifle).

Sophomore Jessica Boyce has registered a team-leading average aggregate of 1152, including a squad-high average of 583 in  air rifle. She ranks second on the squad in smallbore average at 569.
