EL PASO, Texas – Sophomore Jessica Boyce shot a team-best aggregate (1153) to lead the way for the UTEP rifle team (4590) in its NCAA qualifying match with Nevada (4666) and Alaska-Fairbanks (4660) at the UTEP rifle range Saturday.
 
"Today we finished out our season solid," UTEP head coach Austin Litherland said. "The team leaves the season wanting more. I couldn't be prouder of them. I also want to thank everyone for all the support we had throughout the season. I also want to thank the University of Reno team for giving us the honor of finishing out their last season with us. They will be greatly missed. I already can't wait for next season. Go Miners!"
 
Boyce recorded a score of 565 in smallbore before firing a 588 (one shy of career best) in air rifle to finish the day at 1153. Freshman Josephine John enjoyed the best day of her collegiate career by establishing career highs in both smallbore (569) and air rifle (581) on the way to producing a personal-high aggregate (1150). 
 
Junior Mara Rouse enjoyed a solid all-around day, using a 569 in smallbore and a 577 in air rifle to compile an aggregate of 1146. Freshman Morgahn Warner produced an aggregate of 1144, shooting a squad-best 573 in smallbore and 571 in air rifle.
 
Senior Maranda Nelson notched an aggregate of 1139, checking in at 566 in smallbore and 573 in air rifle. Sophomore Samantha Miller finished with an aggregate of 1127. She started with a 548 in smallbore before refocusing to shoot 579 in air rifle.
 
The match marked the final on the docket of the 2018-19 regular season for the Miners.
