EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP softball team (9-22, 3-6 Conference USA) fell to Southern Miss (17-15, 4-5 C-USA), 13-2 [5] at the Helen of Troy Softball Complex on Sunday afternoon.

Freshman
Bryana Munoz, registered the best appearance of her career, throwing 2.2 innings of work with only one earned run and the first strikeout of her career.
Kasey Flores went 2-3 and tallied the 27th RBI of the season and is now second in C-USA.
Ariel Blair went 2-3 at the plate and scored a run in the effort.
Ariana Valles,
Kacey Duffield and
Pate Cathey all recorded a knock.

Flores recorded the RBI when she hit a single to left field, scoring Blair in the third inning. The Miners got their first run from the
Lindsey Sokoloski when she crossed the dish on an error.

The Golden Eagles posted 12 runs in the first three innings, putting the game out of reach for the Miners.
