EL PASO, Texas – Ana Gonzalez (Loretto Academy HS) will attend UTEP and compete with the Miner tennis team beginning with the 2019-20 scholastic year, UTEP head tennis coach
Ivan Fernandez announced Tuesday.

Served as the No. 1 singles player during the entirety of her prep career with Loretto Academy HS (El Paso, Texas) … voted as team MVP in all four years of competition … has been playing tennis for seven years … enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, mountain biking, cooking and playing the piano in her spare time … plans to major in business administration … daughter of Hector and Barbara Gonzalez … has two sisters.
"I am very excited to welcome Ana to the UTEP tennis family for fall 2019. She comes to us from Loretto Academy here in El Paso. She has been the No. 1 player at Loretto her entire high school career. Ana is a very hard worker, and I know she will improve quickly with us. I am really glad she decided to stay home in El Paso and be part of our quickly improving tennis program. She will be able to have her family and friends watch her compete at her home courts at the El Paso Tennis and Swim Club."
