UTEP Preps for First Road Tilt at California Baptist

EL PASO, Texas –
UTEP women's basketball heads to Riverside, Calif., this weekend for the first road test of the season. The Miners will face the Lancers in a Saturday matinee, tipoff is set for 12 p.m. MT.

PREVIOUSLY ON…
UTEP fought to a 63-55 victory over the Javelinas of Texas A&M – Kingsville Tuesday night. The sharp-shooting visitors did not make it easy, but a strong fourth quarter from the Miners helped seal the win. Jane Asinde posted her second double-double in as many games (26 points, 12 rebounds) while Delma Zita dropped a career-high 13 points. Erin Wilson was once again strong on the boards, racking up a game-leading 14 rebounds. The Miners shot 41.5 percent from the field and an even 50.0 percent from the foul line. Mahri Petree paced the team in steals with four.
 
ASINDE'S ALL IN
Jane Asinde has continued her hot start to the season, posting a 26-point, 12-rebound double-double against the Javelinas. While she was two points shy of a career high in points scored, she did set career-bests in both field goals made (11) and field goal attempts (24). Asinde ranks first in the conference and is tied for seventh in the nation in double-doubles (two) and she leads CUSA and is 14th in the country in minutes per game (38.02).
 
ERIN "WINDEX" WILSON
Erin Wilson continues to clean up on the glass this season, scoring eight points and pulling down a career-high 14 rebounds against A&M – Kingsville. That puts her season total at a team leading 32 rebounds. She ranks first in conference and fifth nationally in offensive rebounds per game (6.0), is first in the league and 39th in the country in total rebounds (32), and leads CUSA while ranking 41st in the nation in rebounds per game (10.7)
 
FLOOR GENERAL
Delma Zita tallied a career high 13 points against the Javelinas. She is tied for third on the team in scoring and ranks third outright in total rebounds.  She leads the Miners in assists with 15 and in steals with eight on the year. She has also recorded one block.

PESKY PETREE
Mahri Petree matched a career high with a game-leading four steals against A&M – Kingsville. She is tied for second on the team in total steals with five this season. Petree is also leading the team in blocks with two.
 
THE COUNTDOWN IS ON
Keitha Adams is just six games away from 500 career victories as a head coach. 287 of those wins have come at the helm the UTEP women's basketball program.
 
SCOUTING CALIFORNIA BAPTIST
The Lancers are 3-0 on the year, averaging 74.0 ppg on 42.1 percent shooting. Chloe Webb paces the team with 19.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Webb also leads the team in steals with eight. Following close behind is Grace Schmidt, averaging 16.7 points and 7.7 rebounds. Nhug Bosch Duran has 9.7 ppg, Khloe Lemon is averaging 8.7, and Anaiyah Tu'ua rounds out the top five scorers with 8.3. Kinsley Barrington ranks third on the team in rebounding with 5.0 per game. Tu'ah is averaging 4.7 rpg while also leading the team in assists with 12 total. Barrington is not far behind at 10. As a team, CBU is averaging 8.7 three pointers and 7.7 steals per game.
 
SERIES HISTORY WITH THE LANCERS
This will be the first meeting between the Miners and the Lancers.
