PDF Box Scores: Game 1, Game 2, Game 3

BOCA RATON – UTEP Softball (11-25, 2-13 Conference USA) dropped three potential shutouts this weekend as the Miners drove in a single run in each game of the Florida Atlantic series. FAU (29-13, 11-4 C-USA) struck early in games one and three and pulled off a late rally extra-inning walk-off win in game two to tab the series sweep.  

Game 1: FAU 4, UTEP 1 

FAU's Presutti opened the bottom of the first with a single. She moved to second on a single by Mora and the duo scored on a two-out error by the Miners. The Owls' third run was courtesy of a homer by Olson that roped to dead center. UTEP scored its lone run in the top of the fourth as Savannah Favre tripled to left center to plate Idalis Mendez who recorded a leadoff double down the right field line. FAU responded in the bottom of the fifth with a two out single by Orland followed by an RBI double by Ennis

Game 2: FAU 2, UTEP 1 [8] 

After a quiet first four innings, UTEP's Anna Sample and Amaya Lee both singled as pinch hitters and Lee's hit made way for Sample to cross the dish. FAU tied the game in the seventh inning with a two-out RBI triple by Olson to shift the game into extra innings. Another FAU triple in the eighth put the Owl's in prime position and a single up the middle walked it off for FAU.

Game 3: FAU 5, UTEP 1 

FAU struck early in the first inning with an RBI single by Mora that plated Presutti. UTEP knotted the game in the third frame with a bases-loaded walk by Ajia Richard, but FAU's Mora responded with another RBI single in the bottom of the inning. Presutti drove in two runs in the fourth inning with a single to the pitcher and was then plated for FAU's final run of the game courtesy of Peterson's single.
