UTEP XC to Compete at TTU Open Friday Morning

EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP cross country team will compete in its second meet of the season when the Miners run at the TTU Open hosted by Texas Tech at LCU Cross Country Course on Friday morning.

The men's 8K race will start at 8 a.m. MT/9 CT, while the women will take the course in the 6K at 8:40 a.m. MT/9:40 CT.

Competing on the women's side Ruth Jerubet, Joan Kimaiyo, Vallary Kiplagat, Salma Licon, Victoria Ovalles, Alexa Rangel and Elise Wilcher.

Running for the men are Titus Cheruiyot, Victor Kibiego, Juan Olmos, Kenneth Talavera, Alejandro Tarin and Angel Torres.

Kibiego is coming off his first career victory when he won the men's 6k at the 37^th Lori Fitzgerald with a personal-best 14:49.4 in Las Cruces on Sept. 2.
