"As we close out our Cross Country season, I want to take a moment to reflect on a year marked by growth, resilience, and important steps forward for our program. This was Coach Justin Herbert's first season leading our distance group, and he brought tremendous energy, vision, and commitment to our student-athletes. Under his leadership, we saw a lot of positive momentum—not only in competition, but in the daily habits, work ethic, and unity that define successful teams," UTEP head coach Francesca Green said.

"We experienced a lot of good things this fall, along with lessons that will fuel our continued development. Each obstacle and each success helped shape who we are becoming. What stands out the most is the culture we are building—one rooted in accountability, toughness, and pride. Our athletes showed what it means to be Miner Built: resilient, humble, and willing to put in the workday after day.

"I am incredibly proud of this group and the foundation they've laid. As we shift our focus to the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons, our mission remains the same: keep working, keep improving, and keep elevating UTEP Track & Field and Cross Country. The future is bright, and we are just getting started."
