UTEP T&F Opens Indoor Season at Stan Scott Memorial in Lubbock Saturday

EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP track and field team will begin the 2024 season with the indoor slate at the Texas Tech Stan Scott Memorial at the Texas Tech Sports Performance Center in Lubbock on Saturday.

The meet will begin at 9 a.m. MT/10 CT.

Making the trip on the men's side are Jakub Belik (high jump), Xavier Butler (60m, 200m, 4x400), Jalen Cadet (60m H, long jump, high jump), Stephen Carreto (600, 4x400), Karon Dean (60m, 200m, 4x400), Kevin Hewitt (400m, 4x400), Joshua Hill (400m, 4x400), Aleks Hristov (shot put, weight throw), Noah Jirgens (weight throw), Julian Mars (60m, 200m), Zion Meaders (400m, 4x400), Julio Pacheco (400m, 4x400), Mathew Polk (200m, 4x400), Oriade Rashid (60m, 200m), Aron Tanui (600, 4x400), Alejandro Tarin (mile), Zacarias Velasquez (long jump), and Jordani Woodley (60m, 60m H).

Competing for the women are Ra'ianna Artmore (long jump), Loubna Benhadja (600, 4x400), Chinique Brown (400m, 4x400), Niesha Burgher (400m, 4x400), Asia Hodge (60m, 200m), Ruth Jerubet (mile), Joyce Kemboi (3000m), Vallary Kiplagat (mile), Salma Licon (mile), Denae McFarlane (60m, 200m), Zani Meaders (400m, 4x400), Thiaxi Melendez (400m, 4x400), Arianne Morais (shot put), Natalie J. Murillo (weight throw), Esther Osisike (shot put, weight throw), Alla Parnov (pole vault), Alyssa Rosales (400m, 4x400), Marisa Simpson (60m, 60m H), Rejoice Sule (60m, 200m), Karen Villa Medina (60m H, long jump, shot put), and Elise Wilcher (mile).

Artmore, Butler, Jirgens, Mars, Zion Meaders, Melendez, Osisike, Parnov, Rosales and Sule will make their UTEP debuts.
