EL PASO – The No. 14 UTEP rifle team delivered a strong performance at the UTEP Rifle Range on Saturday afternoon, firing an aggregate score of 4677 against No. 11 Ohio State (4709).
The Miners shot 2309 in smallbore and 2368 in air rifle, showcasing individual highlights and personal records in the matchup.
Kameron Wells led the Miners with a 1175 aggregate, finishing third overall and fourth in smallbore. Carlee Valenta followed closely with a 1172, tying Ohio State's Gabriella Sprague in air rifle with a score of 597, but registered four fewer center shots, earning second place.
Isabella Rios contributed an aggregate of 1163, while Amy Visconti added a 1162, Xan Keel recorded 1157, Paige Hildebrandt and Julia Czernik both posted 1149, and Holly Visconti rounded out the lineup with a 1138.
Czernik fired a personal record in smallbore. Hildebrandt also achieved a personal best in smallbore. Valenta tied her personal record in air rifle with her impressive 597 score.
