#14 UTEP Rifle Caps Fall Season with Record-Breaking Performance

EL PASO – The No. 14 UTEP Rifle team concluded its fall season on a high note, shattering its own school record with a program-best aggregate score of 4690 against No. 11 Ohio State (4709) on Sunday morning at the UTEP Rifle Range.

The Miners posted impressive marks in both disciplines, recording a 2328 in smallbore and a 2362 in air rifle to surpass their previous school record.

Carlee Valenta led the charge with a career-best 1178 aggregate, including a personal record in smallbore. Valenta's performance earned her a third-place finish overall and in the air rifle category. Kameron Wells followed closely with a 1176 aggregate, tying her personal record in smallbore and finishing second in the discipline.

Isabella Rios (1172), Xan Keel (1162), and Amy Visconti (1157) rounded out the top five scorers for the Miners. Additionally, Julia Czernik matched her personal record in air rifle.

UP NEXT   
The Miners will open their spring slate on January 19th with a triangular match in Fort Worth, Texas, where they will compete against host TCU and Ohio State.
