Second NIL Collective Supporting UTEP Student-Athletes Takes Flight

4/19/2024 10:00:00 AM

EL PASO, Texas – A second Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) collective has been launched to support UTEP student-athletes. The GOLDMINE COLLECTIVE strives to benefit student-athletes from all 17 UTEP sports programs, with an initial emphasis on football. The MINER COLLECTIVE, in existence since 2022, assists UTEP men's basketball student-athletes to make a positive impact in the community by use of their name, image, and/or likeness.

"As the college athletics landscape continues to evolve, Name, Image and Likeness opportunities have become paramount to help UTEP Athletics compete on a level playing field," UTEP Vice President and Director of Athletics Jim Senter said. "I encourage Miner fans to support NIL opportunities for our student-athletes by making an investment in the new GOLDMINE COLLECTIVE or the MINER COLLECTIVE. Your generosity can make a difference in the lives of our student-athletes, and provide the Miners with the much-needed resources to compete for and win championships."

"When I took the job here, the biggest thing that I heard about was the passion that fans, donors and alumni have for this great University and this great football program," UTEP football coach Scotty Walden said. "In the landscape of college football today, we cannot do this without you. We need to have support for our student-athletes in order to recruit elite players and people into our program, so that we can give you a winning product both on and off the field. It doesn't matter what amount you donate or how often, everything matters. We are excited to strike gold and to do it with you!"

The GOLDMINE COLLECTIVE provides UTEP fans with the opportunity to invest in the sports program of their choosing, with no minimum donation required. They can also set up one-time or monthly contributions.
