FORT WORTH – The UTEP rifle team opened its spring season with a solid performance, firing a 4655 team aggregate on Sunday at the TCU Rifle Range.
The Miners tallied a 2312 in smallbore and a 2343 in air rifle during a competitive tri-match hosted by TCU. TCU took first place with a 4714 aggregate, followed closely by Ohio State with a 4705.
Carlee Valenta delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 7th overall with a 1178 aggregate. Valenta's consistency included matching her career aggregate exactly, with an impressive 79 center shots.
Isabella Rios and Amy Visconti followed Valenta's lead, each posting a 1160 aggregate. Kameron Wells added a 1157, with Paige Hildebrandt achieving a career-high 1153. Rounding out the roster were Xan Keel (1150), Julia Czernik (1149), and Holly Visconti (1139).
