UTEP T&F’s Osisike Sets PR in the Discus on Final Day at the 97th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays Saturday

AUSTIN, Texas – UTEP track and field wrapped up the final day of competition at the 97th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on Saturday afternoon.
 
Esther Osisike threw a personal-best 52.46 meters (172-1) in the women's discus B final and finished fourth of 14 competitors. The sophomore recorded her new mark on her first attempt. Osisike's previous best was 51.63m (169-5). Texas Tech's McKenzie Davis finished first with a 52.82-meter (173-3) throw. Coming into the weekend, FIU's Michaelle Valentin leads CUSA at 57.54 meters (188-9). Osisike would rank second in the conference with her new mark. 
 
Marissa Simpson finished third in the women's 100-meter hurdles finals with a time of 12.91 (2.6). Texas' Akala Garrett won the final (12.75) while Howard's Marcia Sey (12.76) was second. 
 
Alla Parnov leaped a season-best 4.07 meters (13-4.25) in the women's pole vault elite. Parnov came into the weekend ranked first in CUSA with a 4.00m (13-1.5). 
 
Jakub Belik leaped a season-best 2.11 meters (6-11) with a fourth-place finish in the men's high jump A final. Before the weekend, Belik entered the event leading CUSA with a 2.10m (6-10.75). 
 
Rejoice Sule clocked in a season-best 23.26 in the women's 200-meter dash invitational. Sule entered the weekend leading CUSA in the 200 with a 23.36. 
 
UP NEXT
UTEP will travel to Lubbock to compete at Texas Tech's Masked Rider Open on April 4-5 at the Terry and Linda Fuller Track & Field Complex.
