EL PASO, Texas – The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) will join the College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation and Conference USA in celebrating Extra Yard for Teachers Week next week, honoring and uplifting the teaching profession through recognition, resources, and community support.

The CFP Foundation is committed to elevating educators by focusing on four key areas: resources, recognition, recruitment, and professional development. Through partnerships with institutions like UTEP, the Foundation drives initiatives that positively impact schools, teachers, and students nationwide.

As part of this year's celebration, UTEP will award two local schools $4,000 grants to support campus enhancements, along with one outstanding teacher who will receive a $1,000 grant to enrich their classroom and learning environment.

Educators and schools are encouraged to apply by Tuesday, Sept. 10 at the link below for the opportunity to be selected. Winners will be called on Friday, Sept. 12, followed by a Big Day Recognition visit on Tuesday, Sept. 16. The celebration will culminate with an on-field recognition during UTEP's home football game against the University of Louisiana Monroe on Sept. 20.
