EL PASO, Texas – Aaron Price, who served two separate stints as an assistant coach on the UTEP football staff, will be teaming with the "Voice of the Miners" Jon Teicher as a color analyst on Miner football radio broadcasts for the remainder of the 2025 season.

Price, who is currently working at UTEP as Assistant Athletic Director for NIL Strategy & Sports Excellence, will make his radio debut on Saturday when the Miners host UT Martin in the home opener at the Sun Bowl. Kickoff is slated for 7 pm MT (pregame show at 6 pm) and the game can be heard live on KLAQ 95.5 FM and the UTEP Miners app.

"Miner Nation!!  It's truly an honor to be given the opportunity to join the UTEP radio broadcast team as the color analyst for Miner football," said Price. "Being a part of UTEP Athletics and this community for nearly 20 years, I understand how much UTEP Football means to El Paso, and to have the chance to be a part of its rich tradition is incredibly special.

"I'm especially excited to work alongside the 'Voice of the Miners,' the legendary Jon Teicher. His calls have been a major part of UTEP history for decades, and I can't wait to learn from him and help bring Miner fans the insight and the football strategy to each and every game this fall. I'd like to thank Van Wagner and UTEP Athletics for giving me this opportunity. It's going to be a great year!  Go Miners!!"

"I am delighted to have Aaron Price join our UTEP radio broadcast crew," said Jon Teicher, the "Voice of the Miners" for over four decades. "I have known and worked with Aaron for more than 20 years. He is an outstanding communicator who will bring Miner fans an insight of what is happening on the field with the experience of one that has coached at the highest level of the college game."

During his 12 years as a UTEP Football assistant coach, Price wore numerous hats, including serving as offensive coordinator, quarterbacks and kickers coach from 2008-12. During that time, signal-caller Trevor Vittatoe shattered UTEP's passing records. Price also mentored Miner great Jordan Palmer as quarterbacks coach from 2004-06.

He was UTEP's special teams coordinator during the 2021, 2022 and 2023 campaigns. His most distinguished protégé during that stretch was Gavin Baechle, who was named the Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Year in 2022 after setting a school record with 22 consecutive made field goals.

Price's long and distinguished football coaching career included a stint as the head coach and athletics coordinator at Hanks High School in El Paso from 2017-19.  He led the Class 5A Knights to the state playoffs in 2018.
