UTEP Men’s Golf to Compete at USC’s Whirlwind Invitational Sept. 8-9

EL PASO – UTEP men's golf will play in its second tournament in as many weeks when the Miners take the links at USC's Whirlwind Invitational in Chandler, Ariz., at Whirlwind G.C. (par 72 | 7,222 yards) starting Monday through Tuesday.

Round one action will tee off Monday at 8 a.m. MST/9 MDT with a shotgun start. Round two will follow. The final round will tee off at the same time on Tuesday with the awards ceremony slated for 1:15 p.m. MST/2:15 MDT.

Making the trip for the Miners are Dylan Teeter (68.0 stroke average), Patrick Foley (70.3), Alexandre Godin (73.0), Marc Keller (73.3), Braden Smith (73.0), and transfer Valentin Luna competing as an individual. This will be Valentin's first action as a Miner.

The Miners will compete against host USC, Arkansas State, Stetson, San Francisco, James Madison, Georgia State, UTA, NM State, Eastern Michigan, George Washington and Northern Colorado.

UTEP men's golf opened the 2025 season with a ninth-place finish at the Island Resort Intercollegiate hosted by South Dakota State at Sage Run Golf Course (7,375 yards | par 72) on Aug. 31-Sept. 1.

The Miners shot 18-under par 846 (281-282-283).

Dylan Teeter finished as the top Miner, tying for sixth overall after penciling in a 12-under par 204 (67-71-66). Teeter tallied 15 birdies and three bogeys on the weekend. Teeter moved up six spots after firing a 6-under par 66 and recording six birdies with zero bogeys on the afternoon.
