EL PASO, Texas – The UTEP rifle team has added championship experience and proven consistency with the signing of Gracie Robinson (Lawson, Missouri/Lathrop High School), head coach Andrea Palafox announced Tuesday. Robinson will join the Miners for the 2026-27 season after a decorated prep career in Missouri High School Rodeo (MHSR) competition.

A two-time Missouri State Champion in .22 Shooting, Robinson capped her junior campaign by going undefeated in Light Rifle en route to the 2024 MHSR State Championship. She secured the title with a cumulative score of 630 12x, claiming first place in both go-rounds and the finals average to earn overall Light Rifle Average Champion honors. Robinson also finished among the Top 4 in Trap Shooting to qualify for nationals and was named the 2024 MHSR Go Round State Champion.

Robinson made three appearances at the Cinch National High School Finals Rodeo, including her most recent trip in 2024. She has consistently excelled in both rifle and trap disciplines, highlighted by multiple first-place finishes throughout her sophomore, junior and senior seasons.

During her senior year (2024-25), Robinson closed out her regular season with a first-place finish in Rifle and fourth in Trap. She also recorded a victory in Rifle, and added top-two finishes in both Rifle and Trap in September competition.

As a sophomore, Robinson claimed the 2023 MHSR State Finals Championship in .22 Shooting and tallied numerous first-place finishes in Light Rifle throughout the year. She began building her résumé as a freshman with a third-place finish in Light Rifle and a Reserve Champion honor in Pole Bending at the MKYRA Finals.

Beyond high school rodeo competition, Robinson has represented Missouri at the state level through 4-H, earning selection to the 2024 4-H Missouri State Smallbore Rifle Team and the 2025 4-H Missouri State Air Rifle Team.
