EL PASO, Texas – UTEP Volleyball Head Coach Ben Wallis announced the addition of two transfer student-athletes to the Miners' roster, welcoming setter Shea Bruntmyer and libero/defensive specialist Lily-Rose Pichon to the program.

Bruntmyer, a setter from Abilene, Texas, arrives in El Paso following stops at LSU and Samford. She began her collegiate career with the Tigers in 2024, appearing in nine matches and totaling seven assists, seven digs, one ace and one kill. In her collegiate debut against Oklahoma, Bruntmyer delivered her first career ace in a crucial moment to help secure a 26-24 set victory.
She continued her development at Samford in 2025, where she earned Southern Conference Setter of the Week honors three times. Bruntmyer played in 27 matches with 26 starts, compiling a team-high 770 assists (7.62 per set) while adding 144 digs, 25 aces, 19 kills and 11 block assists. She recorded a season-high 47 assists against South Alabama and tallied 10 digs at Wofford.
Prior to her collegiate career, Bruntmyer starred at IMG Academy, where she was part of the program's inaugural volleyball season. She amassed 2,132 assists, 250 aces, 633 digs and 464 kills during her high school career, earning multiple accolades including Setter of the Year, District MVP, First Team All-State, First Team All-District, All-State All-Academic and MaxPreps Player of the Year.
Lily-Rose Pichon | L/DS | Saint-Saturnin, France | Lycee David d'Angers | Colby CC/Norfolk State
Pichon, a native of Saint-Saturnin, France, brings elite defensive credentials to the Miners after a standout career at Colby Community College and Norfolk State.
At Colby CC, Pichon developed into one of the top liberos in the NJCAA. As a sophomore, she recorded 726 digs (5.90 per set), ranking first nationally in total digs and second in digs per set. She earned First Team All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference honors and helped lead her team to the 2023 Region VI Championship. Pichon posted 35 or more digs twice, including a 39-dig performance at Garden City CC, and recorded 20 or more digs 18 times during the season.
She continued her success at Norfolk State in 2024, becoming the program's first-ever MEAC Defensive Player of the Year. Pichon totaled 412 digs (4.08 per set), ranking among the top defensive seasons in school history. She appeared in all 28 matches, adding 74 assists and 16 service aces while posting a .934 reception percentage. Pichon recorded double-digit digs in 25 matches, including five performances with 20 or more digs, and closed the season on a six-match double-digit dig streak.
